The Vaqueta Gastro Mercat is only a few steps away from the Mercat Central: The impressive market hall built in the typical Valencia art-déco style in the city’s historic center is one of the famous attractions of the Spanish Mediterranean city and hosts Europe’s largest fish market. As a small homage to the large neighbor, the restaurant also features a lovely market area where guests can shop selected delicacies.
The charmingly designed restaurant, concepted by Valencia’s architecture and interior design studio Janfri & Ranchal presents itself in an inviting and cozy manner. The look is mainly marked by a contemporary aesthetic, whereby raw brick walls and warm wood tones assure that the design elegantly aligns with its historic surroundings. A special focus was placed on the look of the restrooms: They are colorful and imaginative and the opposite of the usual tile boredom.
