Locals and connoisseurs of Bavarian habits know the theme “Trumpf oder kritisch” (translates to trump or critical) from the card game Watten. Since 2015, Munich’s gastronomy afficionados also associate a modern tavern with that.
Located in the midst of the Altschwabing district, you can get Augustiner draft beer as well as drinks from a well equipped bar. Below baroque antler lamps, pork roasts with dark beer sauce, tasty char from the Königssee and other seasonal Bavarian delights are served.
On top, hurried guests can pick up pork roast and Leberkäse to go.
The name says it all: “Karterln” – as the Bavarians call playing cards – is definitely allowed at the custom made tables with gambling motifs. Those who come unprepared, can borrow cards from the hosts.
