The heart of the Therme Meran is 48 times 48 meters large: the large glass cube offers an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains and allows the sunlight to enter so it can reflect on the 2,000 square meter large water surface.
Star designer Matteo Thun is responsible for the spectacle of modern architecture and picturesque nature. As he is from South Tyrol himself, he appreciates the symbolism of his homeland and uses it as a design element.
The central theme of his design concept is water. He even had wood and stones treated to made them look like they have exposed to water for centuries.
Besides the close-to-nature design, guests can enjoy a stunningly beautiful park, 25 pools sized between four and 472 square meters, a 1,300 square meter large sauna area, steam bath and -cave, a brine inhalation area, a medical spa, fitness area and many treatments.
The 51,000 square meter large park is opened from mid May to mid September and attracts visitors with its Mediterranean flora, 300 different tree genus, 500 water lilies and a playground.
