With its 28 guest rooms as well as a spectacular one-bedroom penthouse, the Silo Hotel is a mid-sized hotel. But more important than the dimension is the tastefully accented contrast between historic architecture and modern design.
The individually designed rooms carry the signature of interior designer Liz Biden, who combines colorful eclecticism with industrial elements and the contrast of old and new – the lively warmth in the interior meets a rough and cool outside.
The designer was inspired by travels around the world, which can be seen by the impressive collection of art.
The ground floor features a small, fine gallery named The Vault. It shows the work of contemporary African artists. The exhibit is changed every two years.
Time for more contemporary art? The wonderful Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) is located in the same building.
