The first property of The Ritz-Carlton in Morocco is located just a few minutes’ drive from the historic center of Rabat. Nestled in a 440-hectare wooded area with lush gardens, the hotel attracts guests with its majestic elegance.
A “wow moment” upon entering: the high ceiling decorated with “muqarnas” – an iconic Arab-Andalusian architectural element from the time of the Almoravid dynasty – is a testament to masterful craftsmanship. The richly decorated dome in particular, with geometric and floral patterns in green, gold and a touch of red, amazes guests. The walls are adorned with unique Moroccan “Gebs” frescoes – skillfully crafted from plaster by local artisans.
The interior depicts Arab-Andalusian history and culture while adding modern accents with elegant furniture. The hotel comprises 100 rooms and 17 suites, including a 180 square meter Royal Suite. All have a private terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. The design is a mixture of baroque opulence and Moroccan flair: The beds have XL headboards, there are large mirrors, baroque-style furniture and sumptuous marble in the bathrooms.
The gilded frescoes and opulent fabrics exude timeless elegance, while vibrant colors add freshness. Guests can sit back and relax with a magnificent view of the surrounding greenery.
Some rooms have a small private garden where you can sit outside like in an outdoor living room.
