They still do exist, the lovely shady basement bars. At least in Frankfurt, where the Kinly Bar lures its guests below ground in the hip area around the main station. But first you have to ring the bell of the dark and subtle door – reminiscent of the legendary speakeasys during prohibiton.
However, the Kinly is more than a basement place and even for the city’s blooming bar scene some special. Founder René Soffner and his team celebrate the highest art of mixing. For that they even use lab tools such as rotary evaporators. The result of this experimental mixology is more than excited cocktail fans. The bar was also honored as the “Bar of the Year 2020” by the magazine “Mixology”.
Regarding interior, the Kinly is pleasantly unpretentious. It is more about coziness than an underground feel. Very special: All has been hand made, built and painted – or found and bought at vintage markets.
No Reservation, cash only no mobile net – just right for a true basement bar
