The George Hotel

Warm-hearted. Stylish. British. Relaxed.
Hotel
Hamburg

Until a few years ago, Hamburg’s district St. Georg did not have the best reputation. Heavily destroyed during the war and threatened by demolition in the 60s, it became a magnet for drugs and prostitution. But the new millenium brought the turnaround and today it is chic to live in St. Georg. Those who want to get a part-time feeling of that should check in at the area’s first design hotel. The hotel’s name, The George, references the district and radiates a familiar, friend-like touch. The interior is not Hanseatic but very British. Like a traditional club on the island, the hotel is calm, slightly warm and plushy yet very minimalist. Warm colors ranging from cocoa to champagne meet playful plissee lamps, precious wallpapers and 21st century technical finesse. Heavy Chesterfield sofas and brown leather Club chairs? Yes, you will find them, including Union Jack pillows.

If the weather is nice, a drink at the Campari Lounge on the roof terrace is a must!
