Change and redesign are the big topics in the Hotel St. George. Hence the history of the former newspaper printing press from 1840 was caringly considered during the renovation without losing the now.

The seven story high floor was expanded by a neighboring five story high building and now offers enough space for three restaurants, a contemporary spa as well as 153 individually designed rooms ans suites.

The art collection of the hotel is especially impressive. Guests can almost skip a visit to the city’s best galleries as the ouse features more than 300 pieces of art.  Among them one of China’s  Ai Weiwei that can be admired directly at the entrance.

His floating, multiple headed dragon Tianwu made of bamboo is wrapped in white silk and is a true rarity. It is Ai Weiwei’s only piece of work that can be viewed by the open public.

The custom-made wallpaper “Lightning in Tiger Woods” by Klaus Haapaniemi is a highlight on the white walls.
