Six Senses AMAALA feels less like a resort imposed upon the landscape than a village gently folded into it. Opened in July 2026, the new retreat occupies a remarkable stretch of Saudi Arabia’s protected coastline, where ancient mountains, mangrove-fringed waters, and coral-rich coves create a setting that is as dramatic as it is serene.
The architecture takes its cues from the traditions of Saudi Arabia’s coastal communities, translating local forms of shelter, gathering, and hospitality into a contemporary language. Rather than competing with its surroundings, the resort is woven into the natural terrain, creating a sense of intimacy and discovery. Its 100 suites and villas, together with 25 branded residences, are arranged with a village-like rhythm, encouraging guests to move between shaded pathways, open-air spaces, water, and views.

At the heart of the property, a striking clifftop mesa provides both a natural landmark and a stage for some of its most memorable spaces. Soraya, the resort’s signature restaurant, crowns the mesa with sweeping views across the Red Sea. Inside, Japanese precision meets Latin American exuberance, while the setting is designed for lingering evenings and shared plates. Elsewhere, Joud brings Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors to an all-day setting, while Beach Shack strips things back to barefoot ease beside the water.
Wellness, naturally, is less an amenity here than an architectural principle. Six Senses Spa AMAALA is imagined as a hidden desert oasis, enclosed by sloping walls and softened by lush planting, pools, and waterfalls. Treatment rooms open onto private terraces overlooking the lagoon, while a Watsu pool, sound dome, Longevity Center, and Biohacking Recovery Lounge create a quietly futuristic counterpoint to the raw landscape beyond. Ancient traditions and advanced technology coexist without contradiction.
The resort’s interiors continue this dialogue between nature, heritage, and contemporary craftsmanship. Materials and textures are intended to feel tactile and elemental, while the overall design favors spaces that invite people to gather rather than simply admire. The result is a relaxed sophistication: luxurious, but never overly formal.

A setting that is as dramatic as it is serene.
