The Scandic Grand Central is located in a 1909 Art-nouveau building by the famous Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen. Formerly the public railway company resided here. Afterwards, it was vacant for a long time.

Interior designer Jaakko Puro created a modern but reserved and elegant ambience in collaboration with the Finnish monument conservation.

The marble surfaces of the couch tables, the side tables as well as the sofas in the hotel rooms were custom designed and made for the hotel.
