The classic Amsterdam Bruin Café – a bar with dark wall panels creaking floors – was rejuvenated by Studio Modijefsky. The result is Ramona, the ‘young and rebellious daughter’ of the café classic.
Orange, known as the Dutch national color and rarely used on a large scale, is used in different shades ranging from bright to rusty warm. The clear lines of the rooms host an eclectic material mix: glass and warm oak create a contrast as much as the leather of the seats and the concrete walls.
Eye-catcher of the room is the centrally placed counter, a successful mosaic of brick, oak, terrazzo, travertine and a marble slap.
The color-coordinated paintings on the walls were created by Dutch artist Jasper Krabbé
