White marble, polished teak wood, tropical gardens – the Raffles Singapore in his distinct magnificent Colonial style was opened in 1887 and radiates an enchanting atmosphere of luxury and history. To maintain that, the world-famous hotel closed its doors in February 2017 to be thoroughly and carefully renovated.
The Raffles Singapore re-opened in August 2019 and fortunately the special and unique charm of the distinguished place have been preserved. Of course that also means that guests still get to enjoy the incomparable services of the legendary Raffles Butler. Hence, the revived hotel stays true to its roots.
The world-famous Singapore Sling was invented at the Long Bar of the hotel by barkeeper Ngiam Tong Boon in 1915
