He is considered as the inventor of boutique hotels, is expert for demanding night club and hotel concepts and once again re-invented the wheel with the concept named Public.
We are talking about Ian Schrager, who opened a hotel in the Bowery in a building by Herzog & de Meuron that is supposed to offer “luxury for all”: great service, design, fun and a unique hotel experience at an affordable price.
The efficiently designed rooms can be compared to boat cabins. The Public hotel also features two restaurants by star chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, three bars and green areas.
The hotel’s multimedia performance space is called “Public Arts”. Events such as film screenings, exhibits and club nights take place here.
