“Popo” means grandmother in Mandarin. And that is how it is supposed to taste in the restaurant opened in 2017 in the “Warehouse” design hotel.
Not an easy task for chef Willen Low because – as we all know – everything tastes best at granny’s. But the pioneer of the “mod cuisine”, meaning Singapore’s modern cuisine, can face the challenge with confidence. After all, his main restaurant Wild Rocket is one of Asia’s top 50 restaurants.
At the Pó, he focuses on traditional family recipes and local classics and gives them a new twist. Apparently, he worked hard to convince lots of grannies to share their secret recipes with him.
The Popiah, spring rolls filled with shrimp etc, are a must-eat.
