Germany’s first flagshop store is located in a Biedermeier building in the city center. The interior design combines traditional elements of the era, such as pastel-colored walls in green and purple, with contemprary design and colorful furniture. Old stone floors and parquet were restored, new walnut shelves Murano glass chandelier and a vintage chair re-covered with Paul Smith fabric were added. Beyond both women’s and men’s collection and accessories, the store also sells furniture and fixtures. Nice detail: one wall has been decorated with 1000s of buttons, all of which were hand-glued to the wall.
The tile floor in the winter garden has a Fotheringhay pattern. Fotheringhay is a village in Nottinghamshiere, the county in which Paul Smith grew up and were he opened his first shop.
