Basel

“Heart, passion and joy – the Nomad has its own signature and aims to offer each guest a unique hotel experience”,  says Franz-Xaver Leonhardt of the Swiss Krafft-Gruppe, that is known for its individual hotels and gastronomy concepts.

The Nomad’s concept is indeed very special. The 65 hotel rooms in Basel’s art and business quarter is spread across two buildings: the front house from the  50s and a newly built back building made of exposed concrete. The buildings are connected by the “Eatery” – the centerpiece of the hotel.

The two buildings are further united by a common interior. Local craftsmanship and architecture meet like-minded from all over the world. Furniture and built in components make of oak harmonize with the exposed concrete.

The Grego architects developed colorful Kelim rugs jointly with the textile manufacturer Kinnasand for a cozy flair. The are used in a surprising manner – as fitted carpets over furniture covers or as sound absorbing panels on the ceilings.

Keep an eye on! The “Eatery” regularly hosts events – from a Sunday Jazz Brunch to a party with DJ.
