The Nobelhart & Schmutzig definitely approaches things differently than other restaurants. From the outside it is not recognizable as a restaurant. Peaking in through the door is also not an option as it only opens after ringing the bell. Those courages enough to take this hurdle will be rewarded with a celebrated concept. Owner Billy Wagner already held the title of Sommelier of the Year and manages his own restaurant with Micha Schäfer. Their credo is ‘brutally regional’. Consequently, this means that essentials such as pepper, lemon and olive oil are not allowed. They simply do not come from Berlin or Brandenburg. So the kitchen has to be creative. Wagner and Schäfer also said ‘no’ to common tables. You can take a seat at a counter wrapping around the kitchen and keep an eye on the cooks preparing their regional specialties.

A motto of the restaurant is: “Go ahead and touch your food“! Go for it!

Design

All furniture and lamps were designed and custom-made for the restaurant. The only exception is TON’s Merano chair. But Michael Sans also gave that one a special touch by elevating it with a steel constructions.
