The design of the Nauta was mainly inspired by Japan and Peru – as was the Nikkei cuisine that is served here: a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian aromas.

Designer Felix Pahnke was responsible for the design. He already worked on several Asian culinary hotspots. Main design attribute of the interior is a frame construction of light ash wood that quotes Japanese style.

With their colorful braided ribbons, they clearly remind of Peruvian color patterns and traditional South American fabrics. The furniture and lights have mainly been designed exclusively for the restaurant.

At the same place, owner Max Wirtz ran the 103 Bar for over 16 years. It was a staple of the Kastanienallee.
