GERHARD WASSERBAUER

When in doubt, Greece comes to your home: Konstantin Filippou’s restaurant Mama Konstantina is a hybrid project that was realized without the involvement of architects or designers.

During the day, food is prepared here for the catering business and the Greek delicacies are delivered to the surrounding districts.

In the evening, Mama Konstantina transforms into a place for “kitchen tables” on some days – and the stainless steel and wood work tables into dining tables for communal, multi-course dinners.

The name honors Mama Konstantina, a Greek olive farmer and long-time friend of the Filippou family, who today curates recipes from Konstantin’s childhood and youth
