Formerly, law was enforced here. Because the villa once hosted Saarland’s higher administrative court. After the judge was replaced by a sledgehammer and the house was renovated, it now hosts guests from all over the world, especially since the four star hotel belongs to the exclusive club of Design Hotels.

Regarding design and architecture, owner Günter Wagner went about stylishly: The interior unites small reminders of Louis XIV. elegantly with a contemporary Zeitgeist. Further, the historic villa was enhanced by a minimalist annex that creates an ensemble of tradition and modernity. An arc of suspense that was awarded the prize of the Saar Foundation of German Architects in 2017.

Since November 2019, a new guest house in the hotel’s park has become part of the phenomenal interaction of old and new. A suite designed by Hamburg’s interior designer Conni Kotte promises a special guest experience: “For the suite, I used the notion of a salon from the 30s or 40s as a starting point. From that, the composition of colors and materials evolved to create an atmosphere that is representative but also provides a feeling of security.”

“Quality is the obligation. But our individuality is the freestyle.” Günter Wagner
