The central Kimpton Gray Hotel is located on Monroe Street in a former Art-déco building of the New York Life Insurance Company and offers fantastic views of the Chicago River.

During the renovation, the architecture studio Gensäer focused on a simple and modern interior design and closely collaborated with LA’s Studio Beleco. The grey marble in the hotel is typical for the local architecture of the early 20th Century.

At the same time, the original interior design was turned around with a mix of colorful vintage and contemporary furniture. A special eye catcher is the iconic Womb Chair designed by Eero Saarinen in 1948.

Special Tips

The Kimpton Gray hotel has one of the loveliest roof terrace of the city: The bar Boleo is located right across the Tribune Tower and Wrigley Building.
