The Dutch design eccentric Marcel Wanders combines Hungarian folklore with the modern vitality of the city in this hotel. The boutique hotel has been transformed from a historic 19th century mansion into a stylish 127-room enclave, offering guests a direct view of Budapest’s historic and cultural landscape.

The design combines playful accents with historical elements. The reception counters are designed in the shape of eggs – one of Marcel Wanders’ favorite shapes. Decorated with books, collector’s items and treasures from different parts of the world, they contribute to an inviting atmosphere.

Fascinating patterns throughout the hotel honor Hungarian mythical creatures and local flora with illustrations of poppies and tulips. The rooms, on the other hand, are decorated in a calm palette of cool colors that provide a delightful contrast to striking architectural elements such as the central glass atrium with a golden deer. Vaulted ceilings and lush greenery transport visitors to a fairytale realm.

The 11 suites are equipped with free-standing bathtubs and spacious balconies. For a deluxe stay in Budapest, the Cosmos and Observatory suites are available, offering two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room and a kitchenette on 120 square meters. The Observatory Suite also has an 82 square meter private, furnished roof terrace, which is ideal for stargazing and private gatherings.

The hotel has three dining options: the signature restaurant AGOS, a green rooftop bar and an all-day bar in the lobby.

The famous Hungarian baths in Budapest – valued for their healing properties since the 16th century – are located in the immediate vicinity
