Architecture fans know this address from their pilgrimage: 140, Maiden Lane in San Francisco was built by none other than contemporary master Frank Lloyd Wright.
The building was built in 1948 and is considered as prototype of New York’s Guggenheim Museum. Not surprising as the vaulted stair in the store of the Italian men’s label Isaia that has moved to the ground floor strongly reminds of the one in the famous museum.
It is a given that the most important architectural elements such as the stair, the facade and the ceilings were preserved during the thorough renovation by Lochte Architectural Group .
