The original building of Château Mont Royal was built at the beginning of the 20th century in the architectural style of Louis XVI and designed by Guillaume Tronchet. The château’s first owner, Fernand Halphen, is said to have commissioned the building to offer his wife “a view that enchanted her”.
Even today, guests at the InterContinental Chantilly Château Mont Royal can still be enchanted by this view. The hotel’s 109 guest rooms and suites have been redesigned to convey a sense of calm and elegance. The interior design was inspired by the beauty of the hotel’s biophilic surroundings, the equestrian traditions of the region and the subtleties of Chantilly lace. Each room is flooded with natural light through the large windows, balconies and terraces overlooking the idyllic surroundings.
The château’s former music salon is home to the gourmet restaurant L’Opera, where guests dine under majestic chandeliers and sky-high ceilings. Le Stradivarius, the library and smoking room of original owner Fernand Halphen, is now a warm and inviting restaurant for business lunches, romantic dinners or drinks with friends.
The menu of the hotel’s two main restaurants – L’Opéra and Le Stradivarius – is a reinterpretation of classic French dishes and celebrates the sumptuous seasonal produce of the region. Chef Cédric Jean-Charles presents classic French dishes complemented by a selection of fine wines.
Chantilly is located in the picturesque Oise region in northern France, just 30 kilometers from Paris
