What started in 1350 with the Tetelheimer tower on Salzburg’s Mönchsberg, was expanded to the Mönchstein castle over time and ultimately to a luxurious castle hotel. The five-star house that was declared as ‘superior’ in 2010 features a futuristic glass dome construction since 2018. It spans over the awarded restaurant The Glass as well as the noble Apollo Bar and builds a great contemporary contrast with the patriarchal castle.

In 2018 the interior of the 24 rooms and suites was also re-designed: elegance and exclusivity mark the classic design, selected furniture among others by Christopher Guy and precious materials such as Calacatta marble radiate timeless luxury. Not surprising as London’s Studio H2 was responsible for the interior design. They became famous for the interior of luxury yachts.
