For the third restaurant of the Chinese casual dining brand Gaga, the Shanghai and Hong Kong-based architecture firm Linehouse drew inspiration from its Mediterranean cuisine: inside the historic three-story building in the trendy Xintiandi district, minimalist design meets natural materials and earthy colors. Green earth tones on the ground floor connect the garden with an open café area, while red fire tones dominate the dining room
on the second floor. The black yakisugi wood on the upper floor contrasts with the whitewashed stone walls and traditional wooden beam ceiling.
The open kitchen on the second floor is lined with tiles made from ground coffee.
