Architecture to worship: Milan’s Duomo now has architectural competition – in the shape of a secular cathedral, as Jacques Herzog of Basel’s star architecture studio Herzog & de Neuron states concisely.
The complex is 200 meters long and 32 meters high. On the front it presents itself airy and glassy and from the side it achieves the stunt to use ample of brutalist concrete yet seem light.
With the building, the Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli of the publishing house with the same name gave themselves a new and spectacular home.
The Fondazione hosts offices, research center as well as a book store and café and also serves as the headquarter of Microsoft Italia.
