HOTEL
Vienna

The absolutely charming boutique hotel is named after Josephine de Bourblanc, a young French aristocrat, who was born in Vienna as the daughter of an ambassador in 1895. As a young woman she was already enthusiastic about art, literature and theater and turned the hotel in the 20s and 30s into a magical place that kidnapped guests into the world of surrealism.

The magic that Josephine de Bourblanc (or Josefine as she was called in Vienna) formally radiated can still be felt in the entire hotel.  Art-déco design meets Vienna netting, crystal chandeliers and surreal art. Velvet, brass and green marble are the dominant materials that create an atmospheric ambience together with golden details, glamorous mirrors and hand-made retro elements.

Vienna’s architectural studio Megatabs mainly focused on local manufactures for the interior design. The bold collages that decorate the halls were created by artist Ben Reyer on the basis of magazines, posters and newspapers. Similarly unique: The newly interpreted drawings of Josephine de Bourblanc by designer Praline Le Moult.
