The country needs sharp-tongued chroniclers like the legendary Viennese feature writer Karl Kraus at all times – this restaurant is a worthy memorial to him. The planners did not want to limit themselves to too narrow a perspective.
They preferred to combine contrasting elements. The roughness of concrete and brickwork meets fine lacquer and velvet, and the content ranges from a simple art café to a luxurious restaurant.
However, the culinary concept of thoroughbred restaurateur Johannes Schartner is also special. The special
focus is on fermentation – a recently rediscovered culinary technique for preserving food.
The unusual piano lacquer finish is used in the bar. A huge velvet bench, made by the local company Seliger Wien, is a perfect match
