Designed by architect Gert Wingårdh, Clarion Hotel Sign has long been a landmark of contemporary Scandinavian confidence — all sharp lines, generous glazing, and a silhouette that feels both urban and distinctly Nordic. Inside, the atmosphere balances metropolitan energy with Swedish restraint: clean geometry, curated design pieces, and a sense that architecture here is not backdrop, but protagonist.

In December 2025, the top floors quietly introduced a new chapter: the Stratum Suites, three signature spaces conceived in close collaboration with the Swedish design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg — co-founded by Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Oscar Kylberg. Their debut coincided with the unveiling of the Stratum Collection, a furniture line created exclusively for the suites and crafted in Sweden with a focus on precision, material integrity, and enduring sustainability.

The name “Stratum,” derived from the Latin for layer, hints at the design philosophy. Material, proportion, and detail unfold in subtle tiers: polished steel catches the northern light; natural materials temper the structure with warmth. The hotel’s distinctive triangular architectural language is translated into furniture forms — a sofa, armchair, desk, chair, and coffee table — each defined by clarity of line and measured balance.

Nothing feels decorative for decoration’s sake; instead, the pieces echo the building’s geometry, creating a seamless dialogue between shell and interior.
In the suites, the effect is quietly architectural. Surfaces reflect light with restraint, proportions feel deliberate, and the panoramic city views become part of the composition. The Stratum Collection, though designed for this specific context, carries a timeless, residential sensibility — structured yet calm, expressive yet controlled.

High above Stockholm, the Stratum Suites don’t shout for attention. They operate in layers — of light, material, and form.
