Since Count Antonio Bolza bought the 1,500 hectare large estate on Umbria’s hills close to Tuscany’s border in 1994, he decided to restore the farm houses and turn them into beautiful villas. The core of the estate and highlight of his ambitious project is the Castello, a landmarked castle from the 10th Century that hosts a unique hotel since April 2021.

The boutique hotel with 36 rooms, an underground spa and a farm-to-table restaurant was designed by Antonio Bolza’s sun Benedikt – as were the surrounding villas. The architect who also designed the furniture and lamps in the interior under the Label “BB for Reschio” focuses on traditional Italian construction trade as well as the collaboration with local craftsman, masons, blacksmiths and restorers. He also combines old with new and rustic with elegance in a very sensible manner. This created a space that continues the history of the house with special character.
