Hamburg

The oldest building of the HafenCity, the historic brick building of the department of energy and harbor construction, was revamped into the 25hours Hotel Altes Hafenamt with a lot of respect for the history of the building.

In the former map room, which used to store sea maps and plans for Hamburg’s harbor, hotel guests and other bar bar visitors can now enjoy highballs. The Dreimeta team combined original brick walls with modern panels, oak parquet, furniture custom made for the bar as well as flea market finds for the interior design of the Boilerman Bar.

The wall mural of a supposed shellback was created by artist Thomas Koch.

The historic railing frame of a former gallery was – similarly to the friezes – fastened to the wall as decorative element.
