Hip Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen turned a former Augustianian cloister in the heart of Antwerp into a modern hotel. As the name indicates, the constructional heritage heritage of the old buildings was intended to be honored. And indeed: The August is a true architectural treasure.

The highlight of the redesign is the former chapel of the cloister. Where nuns prayed in the past, you can now find the lounge and bar of the hotel. Lovely lights, reminding of Adolf Loos and custom made furniture create a phenomenal atmosphere that caters to both the worldly use but also the historic background of the building.

The concept of the hotel’s restaurant was developed by famous chef Nick Bril. His restaurant The Jane that has been awarded two Michelin stars is close by.
