After a nine-month renovation, Restaurant Anton opened in early 2024 near the Nyhavn canal, in a historic, listed building, which presented the design team at Space Between with some challenges.

Existing original details were complemented with a simple and contemporary interior, with the historic murals setting the color palette: warm light brown, burgundy, olive green, and teal.

The custom-made banquette, as well as the understated “No. 62” chairs by J.L. Møller in wine red, fit perfectly into the overall design.

Opened in 1848 as a patisserie, the establishment was popular with Copenhagen’s artistic elite, including Hans Christian Andersen.
