Just steps from London’s Green Park, the two-building 1 Hotel Mayfair has been redesigned. The mission: to reduce CO2 emissions with the help of living, green walls and an additional 1,300 plants.

A suspended “green chandelier” by artist Patrick Nadeau and a reception desk crafted from the trunk of an oak tree sourced from a Sussex forest now welcome guests. The tranquil aesthetic extends to the 181 rooms.

Decorated in sand and cream tones, they feature walls covered in living moss.

The hotel is equipped with energy-efficient cooling systems and sensors. Lighting and airflow systems are controlled according to the number of guests in the rooms.
