The two exceptional talents Paolo Lucidi (1974) and Luca Pevere (1977) are a team since 2003. After their industrial design studies at Milan’s Politecnico, they started with joint projects and opened up their own studio three years later.
In their daily work, their passion brings about constant challenges as the duo loves the extraordinary. When LucidiPevere focus on a new product, they try out unusual techniques or experiment with out of the box esthetic measures.
One example: The PAIPAÏ sofa for Ligne Roset is based on a simple hand movement, the folding of a sheet of paper. “Just as with Origami, we drew folding lines starting from an even area. First toset separate sitting area from back rest, then the more pronounced ones for the sides. Both ends of the back rest are folded towards the corpus of the sofa and fastened there”, explain the designers. That way, a cocoon-like seating furniture arose that radiates comfort at first sight.
Besides for Ligne Roset, LucidiPevere work for brands such as De Padova, Zanotta, Gebrüder Thonet Wien, Agape, Foscarini, Kristalia, Living Divani, Normann Copenhagen, Very Wood, Emu, Casamania, De Castelli, La Cividina and Teracrea. Their works are exhibited in several museums in Europe and the US and won awards such as the Iconic Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, the Good Design Award and the Compasso d’Oro Honourable Mention.
