Ian Schrager’s city is New York. He opened the legendary Studio 54 here – and in the Spring of 2019 his second branch of his Edition Hotels in the city. These boutique houses are not supposed to feel like hotels but like clubs, bars or private rooms. In this calm oasis on the mostly chaotic Times Square guests mit locals in a cool ambience.

The duo Yabu Pushelberg was won for the interior design. It is already the fifth collaboration of the Canadian studio with an Schrager. The revisited the beginning of Schrager’s hotel career and oriented themselves around the graphic monochromatic look of his first design hotel, the Morgans Hotel. Consequently the color scheme of the rooms concentrates on the shades white, black and grey.

What a welcome! Guests are lead through a long, ivory colored hallway with Venetian details and end up facing a floating, green-mirrored ball designed by Anish Kapoor and inspired byJeff Koons .
