The Blue Lagoon Spa is located in the heart of a stunning lava landscape on the Reykjanes peninsula. The small wonder of the world was expanded meaningfully with the Retreat at Blue Lagoon complex in 2018 and since then offers a luxury hotel with 62 suites, an underground spa, a geo-thermal lagoon and a gourmet restaurant.
The new retreat radiates a calming cocooning feeling so guests can focus on relaxation and rejuvenation. The main reason for the pleasant and cozy atmosphere is the thorough selection of materials and colors that aims for an harmonious unit of nature and interior.
The use of solidified lava from the area is a special example of this unit. That way, unique furniture pieces were developed by the collaboration of B&B Italia with local stone masons. The result: pieces made of lava stone, black painted wood and cognac colored leather. Very elegant!
The Moss Restaurant offers not only delicious regional seasonal cuisine, but also, as the highest point of the retreat, a magnificent view of the Icelandic volcanic landscape.
