Café Restaurant
Paris

The circumferential wooden structure on the first floor of the Maison de la Radio make the restaurant feel like an eagle’s nest, in which the course of the single planks dilutes too clear contours.

Architects Stéphane Maupin and Eric Wapler, responsible for the design, envisioned a concrete yet diverse target: music lovers coming for concerts as well as restaurant guests.

Instead of strict room divisions, they decided for vertical elements of wood which balance the topics of privacy and light incidence perfectly. Arm chairs by Pierre Paulin refer to the famous designer who developed the original interior design of the Maison de la Radio.

The cocktail bar Le Belair on the second floor reminds on the hiding space of the fictitious secret agent OSS 117 from the stories of Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath.
