It takes 40 seconds in the elevator to reach the eighth floor of the  “Loeser & Wolff”-house. Then the all-round windows of the saddle-storey built by Gerkan, Marg & Partner at the turn of the millenium spoils guests with a spectacular view onto the Neue Nationalgalerie by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the Philharmonie by Hans Scharoun and Renzo Piano’s Potsdamer Platz .

Since May 2017, both enthusiasts of architecture and fine cuisine are spoiled. Anna and Thorsten Schermall turned their club “40 Seconds” into the “GOLVET” restaurant and found a top-class chef. Star-chef Björn Swanson’s (Fischers Fritz, Facil) meals are “puristic, produce focused and without much embellishment”.

The interior focuses on the panoramic view. To let the colorful architecture of the neighborhood shine, the interior was kept dark. The effect is impressive. More Manhattan in Berlin is not possible!

Special Tips

In May 2019, the GOLVET opened a new private dining area for which chef Björn Swanson collaborated with KPM. His culinary delights are served on KPM’s special  Kurland porcelain– on a special edition in black with copper colored rims…
