Paris

Les Halles, the former market hall complex, is shining in new brilliance.  So much so that exceptional chef Alain Ducasse and gastronomer Olivier Mauer saved a lovely spot for themselves. Guests of the restaurant Champeaux can enjoy a unique view of the futuristic new building La Canopée.

In the interior, linear design meets raw materials: large bay windows, a ceiling with metal constructions that give the room an industrial charm and comfy chairs with a view of the garden assure an open, warm ambience. The bar is the center of the room and is lit by an impressive aluminum chandelier.

The white Carrara marble tables with cast iron legs are rare pieces that Alain Ducasse found in an antique store. They stem from the former cafeteria of the Lycée Lakanal and were made by the influential architect Anatole de Baudot – he introduced steal and metal to architecture.
