London’s Blakes Hotel opened in 1978. As one of the World’s first luxury boutique hotel it created a lot of noise. The design of the 5-star hotel was absolutely unique: Each of the 45 rooms had its own look.
Designer Anoushka Hempel became world-famous. Almost 75 years old, she created the Blakes Below under the hotel in 2016. The basement bar is richly decorated in her style.
A decadent and Asia inspired flair with soft cushioned upholstered seats and ornamental designs dominate the two rooms.
The Blakes has always been a magnet for the fashion scene and received the nickname “Couture-Hotel” after visits of Kate Moss & Co..
