Those looking for a stylish retreat to lounge and chill in the pulsating Rhine metropolis, can find the right spot in Cologne’s #1 party quarter. The makers of the legendary 25hours Hotels opened their Cologne branch in the middle of the Friesenviertel – and that in one of the city’s most stunning landmarks.

The spectacular building in the shape of a three-quarter circle that once was the administrative place of the Gerling insurance company still radiates a 50s and 60s feeling. Back then, daring futuristic spaces were created and designed adventurous utopias. Not surprising that the retro futurism became the theme for the design of the hotel.

Facades of golden anodized steel, floors of white smoked crystal, black marble niches, surfaces of yellow Corinna and delicate lights remind of the time of economic miracles in which everything seemed cool, modern and light.

Futuristic dining: Hanging plants in illuminated boxes turn the NENI restaurant into a biosphere lab.
